Consign your special occasions items

All items are accepted by consignment contract with Formally Yours; we do not buy item(s) outright.

We ask for all consignment to be submitted for consideration before being brought in for inspection due to too many rejections from age, brands, condition and/or styles, or not understanding that we do not buy outright. Not only will this cut the process from 15-20 min. to minimal time required, it will save us time away from helping our shoppers!

All consignment is CLOSED after Jan. 17th, 2025 for prom season.

What & how we consign:

We accept formal dresses and pant-sets (no separates) for high-schoolers to grandmas.  We do not accept children's or men's, or decor.  We also accept formal accessories: Purses, sash/belts, jewelry, shawls/boleros, shoes.  No bras, shapewear, crinolines, or bride robes/t-shists/totes are accepted.  We only accept certain Bridesmaid dresses. (Click here for more info.)

We recommend all items have been purchased within the last 3 years to keep with current trends and styles, and what shoppers are seeking.  We need to remain competitive with current stores and shoppers want to purchase items like current stores.

In store, the items will be inspected for cleanliness, flaws, and issues. Items must be considered ready-to-wear condition: clean, odor free, wrinkle free, and have no stains, holes, broken zippers, tears or torn seams.  Major issues devalue the item and cannot be sold here; You can sell on your own, give away, or donate the item.

Please look over your items - even if it was previously dry-cleaned!  Many times the soiling did not come out, and were just placed away in the closet without even thinking about checking them. We receive too many soiled items and end up asking consignors to wash their items at home and then bring back for consideration.

We do NOT require dry cleaning receipts as almost all items are now 100% polyester and can be home laundered by hand washing or using gentle/delicate cycle on your machine.  Items should be hung or flat dried (no dryer).

We do not contact at the end of the contract. You have a chance to pick them up until the grace period end after the expiration date.  After the grace period, remaining items are forfeited and become property of Formally Yours

Every consignor receives a copy of the signed contract and signs off on all policies.  Forfeiture after that grace period has been in effect since 2018; but are now seeing an abundance missing these dates.  If you cannot remember to pick up your important items in time, consignment may not be for you!
